My favourite person

One of my favourite people is my grandfather. His name is Aurelio and he is 85 years old, though I think he looks good for his age. He was born in Granada and he was a farm worker but he moved around a lot looking for work when he was younger. Now he lives in Dos Hermanas, near to my uncle and aunt.

When he was younger he was very tall and handsome with wavy brown hair. Now, he’s still tall but he's bald and he has a thick beard (I think he looks a bit like Fidel Castro). He uses a stick to help him get around. In this picture he’s wearing a white T-shirt, grey trousers, boots and an army cap. He looks very excited. He’s sitting watching a procession at Easter. He never misses them.

In his free time he plays dominoes with his friends in the café and goes bowling twice a week. He loves watching old films (he doesn’t like modern films very much) and his favourite film star is Ava Gardner. He thinks she was gorgeous.

What I like about my grandad is that he is always cheerful. He’s the sort of person who never feels down, and who never lets things upset him. He always looks on the bright side of life. I remember when my pet hamster died. He came and cheered me up until I couldn't stop laughing.

He's very special to me.

He isn't bald. He's got white hair.
